Job summary

The Organoid Culture and Assay Development Intern in Kalamazoo, MI joins a Translational Bioengineered Assays effort at Zoetis. You will gain hands-on experience in organoid culture and in vitro assay development for animal diseases, working with immune cells and biomarker analysis.

Responsibilities include culture optimization, immunofluorescence, data analysis, and presenting findings to the team; this internship offers exposure to microphysiological systems and collaboration with scientists

Qualifications

• Pursuing master's or doctoral degree in molecular biology, cell biology, veterinary sciences, animal sciences, or related field.
• Experience with cell culture, organoid isolation, PBMCs, and ILCs isolation is preferred.
• Experience developing in vitro assays for inflammatory bowel disease or microphysiological systems models with immune cells is recommended.
• Demonstrated passion for biological research and willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and methods.

Responsibilities

• Isolate and culture organoids, PBMCs, or local lymphocytes from target organs of livestock or companion animals.
• Develop and optimize organoid culture conditions.
• Perform various assays and analyze experimental data.
• Create visualizations and presentations for team meetings
