Job summary

The ACLU seeks an Undergraduate Intern in the Organizing Division of the National Political Advocacy Department of the ACLU’s National office in New York City. This internship is part-time and can be hybrid or remote, with a focus on developing organizing skills and EDIB-centered advocacy. Interns will support national and state campaigns, attend meetings, draft campaign materials, and gain hands-on experience in volunteer recruitment and leadership development.

Start dates are Jan. 11th or Jan.

Qualifications

• Commitment to civil liberties, civil rights, and social justice.
• Commitment to EDIB and applying EDIB analysis to organizing work.
• Interest in organizing as a theory of change for social movements.
• Growth mindset and learning-by-doing ethos.
• Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support national and state campaigns and volunteer engagement efforts.
• Attend meetings, events, and conversations on organizing and campaigns.
• Draft materials for campaigns, including email and text copy.
• Engage with volunteers and oversee leadership development.
• Participate in trainings and webinars on organizing skills.
