Job summary

Garden State Laboratories, Inc. in Hillside, NJ seeks a full-time Laboratory Analyst to perform environmental sample analysis using EPA, NJDEP, and Standard Methods SOPs.

The analyst will operate GC instruments, maintain logs, ensure instrument calibration, and uphold QA/QC practices while contributing to public health testing. Requirements include an associate degree preferred and hands-on lab experience; training is provided.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in science is preferred.
• Laboratory experience in Organic techniques is preferred.
• Garden State Laboratories provides training to all new hires.

Responsibilities

• Maintain log(s) of all samples received in the lab for assigned parameters for analysis.
• Make sure all necessary supplies required for the assigned tests are in stock and current.
• Maintain and update all logbooks associated with the assigned analytical procedures.
• Ensure that all instruments and equipment used for sample analysis are calibrated and in good working order prior to any sample analysis.
• Prepare and perform sample analysis utilizing assigned instruments using current and approved SOPs and within regulatory holding times.
• Perform routine maintenance of instruments and equipment as assigned.
• Conform to all GSL QA/QC practices.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment for self and other lab employees as required by GSL health and safety guidelines.
• Notify management of any conditions that may adversely affect the suitability or validity of the requested analysis.
• Other duties may be assigned by the supervisor or manager to accommodate short-term departmental needs.
