Job summary

Garden State Laboratories, Inc. is seeking a full-time Laboratory Analyst in Hillside, New Jersey. The analyst will perform analytical testing on environmental samples, including drinking water, wastewater, and solid wastes, following EPA, NJDEP, and Standard Methods.

Training will be provided for new hires. Responsibilities include maintaining sample logs, ensuring supplies, calibrating instruments, performing analyses per SOPs, and upholding QA/QC standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred but not required.
• Lab experience in Organic techniques preferred.
• Garden State Laboratories provides training to all new hires.

Responsibilities

• Maintain log(s) of all samples received in the lab for assigned parameters for analysis.
• Ensure necessary supplies for tests are in stock and current.
• Maintain and update all logbooks associated with analytical procedures.
• Ensure instruments and equipment are calibrated and in good working order before analysis.
• Prepare and perform sample analysis using assigned instruments per SOPs and holding times.
• Perform routine maintenance of instruments and equipment.
• Conform to all QA/QC practices.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment as required by health and safety guidelines.
• Notify management of conditions affecting validity of analyses.
• Other duties may be assigned by supervisor to accommodate departmental needs.
