Job summary

Michigan State University is seeking an Organic Chemistry Laboratory Prep Technician to support the teaching labs by preparing reagents, maintaining equipment, and managing chemicals and inventories. The role collaborates with faculty, teaching assistants, students, and EH&S to ensure safety and readiness of laboratories.

The successful candidate will contribute to safe, effective delivery of instruction, with emphasis on organization, equipment maintenance, and adherence to university safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or closely related field required.
• Experience in academic chemistry or teaching lab environments preferred.
• Experience with organic chemistry lab prep including reagent preparation and testing.
• Experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and calibrating lab equipment.
• Experience managing chemical inventories, supplies, and hazardous waste.

Responsibilities
