Job summary

Washington State University in Pullman, WA, is seeking an Instructional & Classroom Support Technician 3 to manage laboratory safety, prep, and resource coordination for undergraduate chemistry labs.

The role includes overseeing equipment/chemical management, developing training, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting faculty TAs and student workers. A bachelor's in chemistry or related field with relevant experience is required; evenings may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field and two years as Instruction & Classroom Support Technician 2.
• Willingness to work evenings with notice; ability to obtain Red Cross first aid training with CPR within 6 months.
• Master’s degree in chemistry and two years teaching/supervising General Chemistry labs (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate implementation of laboratory safety practices for undergraduate labs and stockrooms.
• Oversee laboratory preparation activities, equipment and chemical management.
• Provide technical and operational support to faculty teaching assistants and student employees.
• Coordinate staffing, training, and laboratory resources; develop training programs and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with departmental leadership to improve instructional laboratory operations and safety practices.
