Job summary

Lakefield Veterinary Group is seeking an Area Manager to oversee a portfolio of veterinary hospitals, driving growth, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance. The role blends hands-on leadership with data-driven management, ensuring adherence to policies while championing change, client service, and team development.

You will travel regionally, be onsite at hospitals most days, and lead Hospital Administrators to sustain a positive culture and high standards of care.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of multi-site operations management experience in veterinary or healthcare services.
• Solid knowledge of OSHA requirements and healthcare documentation standards.
• Experience with practice management systems; ezyVet experience is a plus.
• Proven ability to drive growth, enforce compliance, and lead change initiatives.
• Data-driven approach with proficiency in Excel/Sheets and dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Be present in assigned hospitals at least 4 days per week and coach hospital leadership.
• Build market plans to increase client acquisition, retention, and revenue per visit.
• Ensure consistent policy execution, regulatory compliance, and SOP standardization.
• Analyze KPIs and operational reports to drive improvements and budgets.
• Lead recruiting, onboarding, and ongoing development of hospital teams.
• Collaborate with Marketing, HR, IT, Finance, Legal, and Medical Advisory Board.
