Job summary

The Sierra Club is seeking a Chapter Director for the Oregon Chapter to lead programs and operations in support of conservation, political and legislative work, equity and inclusion, and fundraising.

You will manage staff and volunteers, collaborate with an Executive Committee, oversee budgeting, media relations, and community outreach, and report to the Deputy Regional Field Director. Evening and weekend work is often required.

Qualifications

  • Fundraising experience and donor relations skills.
  • Budget development, financial planning, and reporting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to represent the Chapter.
  • Strategic planning and program assessment across multiple priorities.
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and working with diverse communities.
  • Leadership of staff and volunteers, with results-driven management.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within Oregon.

Responsibilities

  • Fundraising: set goals, cultivate major gifts, and track progress.
  • Staff and volunteer recruitment, supervision, and development.
  • Strategic planning and organizational assessment.
  • Oversee media relations and digital communications.
  • Outreach, coalition-building, and community engagement.
  • Attend chapter and regional meetings as needed.
  • Budgeting and financial oversight.
  • Ensure compliance with Sierra Club policies and laws.
