Job summary

The Sierra Club Oregon Chapter seeks a Chapter Director to lead fundraising, staff development, and strategic planning from Portland or remote within Oregon. The role guides policy, advocacy, and operations in conservation, politics, equity, and finance while coordinating with volunteers and the Executive Committee.

Strong experience in fundraising, budgeting, and coalition-building is required, along with a commitment to environmental justice and organizational excellence.

Qualifications

• Fundraising experience and donor relations excellence.
• Budget development, financial reporting, and multi-source funding navigation.
• Strong written and verbal communication; conflict resolution capability.
• Ability to design and implement strategic plans with measurable outcomes.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and continuous learning about systems of oppression.

Responsibilities

• Lead Chapter fundraising plans and donor relationships to meet goals.
• Direct staff and volunteer recruitment, supervision, and performance review.
• Facilitate development of short- and long-term strategic and financial goals.
• Oversee media relations and digital communications strategy.
• Engage in outreach, coalition-building, and partnership development.
• Attend Chapter and regional coordination meetings and guide committees.
• Develop and monitor Chapter budget with Executive Committee and Treasurer.
• Ensure compliance with Sierra Club policies and applicable laws.
