Job summary

People, Technology & Processes, LLC seeks an Ordnance Logistics HAZMAT Inspector/Shipping Clerk III to support JEB Little Creek – Fort Story, VA, with a SECRET clearance. Responsibilities include coordinating munitions movement, advising on shipping holds, and ensuring compliance with DoD forms and certifications.

The role requires 3+ years of Ordnance HAZMAT shipping experience, forklift operation, and preparedness to complete AMMO-62 HAZMAT training.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years’ Ordnance HAZMAT shipping experience within the past 3 years.
• AMMO-62 Technical Transportation of HAZMAT certification is preferred; readiness to complete if not certified.
• Documentation of previous Ordnance Qualification/Certification Board involvement.
• Must meet Lautenberg Amendment (Gun Control Act of 1968) requirements.
• Maintain forklift license up to 6,000 lb capacity.
• Must meet requirements to obtain and check out government vehicles / CESE for official duties.

Responsibilities

Job description

Position title: Ordnance Logistics HAZMAT Inspector/ Shipping Clerk III Location: JEB Little Creek – Fort Story, Virginia Beach, VA Clearance required: SECRET

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Assist the Weapons Department in day-to-day Ordnance operations.
• Coordinates with supported commands and prepare required documentation to facilitate movement of munitions in support of NSWG-2 and its component commands.
• Provides detailed technical advice and assistance pertaining to the movement of munitions via all modes of transportation. Use technical publications to facilitate shipment priorities and be familiar with DD Form 2790 and DD Form 626.
• Have in-depth knowledge and experience related to the duties of a shipping clerk garnered from at least a minimum of three (3) years’ Ordnance HAZMAT shipping experience within the past 3 years.
• Have AMMO-62 Technical Transportation of HAZMAT certification for shipping (preferred). If not previously certified, employee must be prepared to complete the AMMO-62 HAZMAT Course upon soonest available opening. This common service school cost and associated travel is at the expense of the contracted company. Recertification is completed online without cost associated.

If employee does not pass online recertification, any costs incurred for travel to the AMMO-62 HAZMAT recert is paid for by the contracted company.
