Job summary

Global Logistics Support Services (GLSS) has an immediate opening for an Aircraft Mechanic I - Ordnance at NAS JRB, Fort Worth, TX. The role requires performing ordnance handling, assembling and repairing aircraft systems, and following maintenance manuals with precision.

Military experience is a plus and a Secret clearance is required. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, replacing components, engine removal and installation, and ensuring safety through rigorous preflight and post-flight

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of Navy Aircraft Ordnance (AO) Program is highly desirable.
• Two or more years of experience maintaining fighter jet aircraft at the organizational, intermediate or depot level.
• Two or more years of experience maintaining F-18E/F aircraft ordnance/systems is highly desirable.
• Two or more years of experience as a Navy Aircraft Ordnance (AO) Skill Set is highly desirable.
• Requires active, DoD current Secret Clearance.
• Combination of experience to repair safely handle aircraft ordnance and perform aircraft maintenance functions of moderate difficulty.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document ordnance handling and general maintenance actions of moderate difficulty to meet assigned missions.
• Repair aircraft and follow direction of higher graded workers.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces, controls, and system components.
• Rebuild aircraft structures and functional components including rigging and hydraulic units.
• Use hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment for maintenance tasks.
• Interpret manufacturers' manuals, maintenance bulletins, and technical data to determine repair methods.
• Replace or repair worn or damaged components such as carburetors, magnetos, fuel controls, and engine parts.
• Remove engines using hoists or forklift, inspect parts, repair or replace as needed, and reinstall engines.
• Perform preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections of aircraft systems.
• Service engines and airframe components at line station; perform repairs short of overhaul.
• Specialize in structural, precision, and functional spare parts repairs and engine repair.
