Job summary

MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas seeks an Order Taker for Room Service at Vdara to deliver seamless in-suite dining experiences. You will record guest orders, upsell signature items, and coordinate with culinary and serving teams to ensure guest satisfaction.

The role requires knowledge of the full menu, proficiency with the POS system, and the ability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays. 21+, prior room service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Know entire menu, proper food presentation, and wine selection for upselling of items.
• Take and place orders into POS system, distribute to serving staff, notify cook station, and ensure timely pickup of order.
• Advise guest of delivery time and ensure order is delivered to suite promptly.
• Distribute orders to servers, log service runs, maintain a cash bank and ensure funds are accounted for.
• Ensure supplies are available in the service area.
• Maintain an organized, clean and presentable environment; ensure sanitation, safety and accident prevention.

THE JOB:

As an Order Taker for Room Service at Vdara , you will be responsible for setting the stage for a seamless in-suite dining experience by accurately recording guest orders, thoughtfully upselling signature menu selections, and ensuring complete guest satisfaction. By actively listening to our guests' unique preferences, answering menu inquiries with poise, and maintaining an organized, pristine workstation, you will serve as an essential ambassador for our luxury boutique resort, working in close coordination with the culinary and delivery teams to deliver exceptional service and create lasting WOW memories for every guest.

THE STARTING RATE:

$22.5993 USD Hourly

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Knowledgeable of entire menu, proper food presentation, and wine selection for up-selling of items
• Take and place order into POS system, distribute order to serving staff, send information to cook station, and ensure timely pickup of order
• Advise owner and guest of delivery time and ensure order is delivered to suite in a timely fashion
• Distribute orders to servers evenly and efficiently, log service runs, maintain a cash bank and ensure funds are correctly accounted for
• Ensure supplies are available in the service area
• Maintain an organized, clean and presentable environment; maintain constant awareness of sanitation, safety and accident prevention

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Work Varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays required
• Previous experience as an Order Taker for Room Service or a similar restaurant environment preferred
• Previous technical experience with Windows applications preferred
