Job summary

The Golden Hog is seeking an Order Specialist to accurately process customer orders across our grocery and food-service operations, ensuring timely pickup or delivery and a positive guest experience. You will receive, enter, coordinate, track, and follow up on orders from multiple channels, working closely with Kitchen, Deli, Bakery, Grocery, and Delivery teams.

• Must be available to work a full-time rotating schedule including opening, mid, and closing shifts, weekends, holidays, and peak periods.
• Experience as Order Specialist or related roles preferred in grocery/food-service settings.
• Ability to receive and accurately process orders from in-store, phone, email, website, and third-party platforms.
• Comfortable using POS systems and digital order platforms; Odoo experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process and coordinate customer orders across in-store, phone, email, online, and approved delivery platforms.
• Verify customer information, products, quantities, prices, substitutions, and pickup/delivery details before finalizing orders.
• Collaborate with Kitchen, Deli, Bakery, Grocery, Produce, Cashiers, and Delivery teams to ensure orders are complete and ready for pickup or delivery.
• Provide timely order updates and resolve issues related to substitutions, delays, or changes.

We are seeking a full-time Order Specialist to support the accurate and timely processing of customer orders across our grocery and food-service operations. This position receives, enters, coordinates, tracks, and follows up on orders placed in person, by phone, email, online, or through approved delivery platforms. The Order Specialist works closely with customers and multiple store departments to ensure orders are complete, accurate, properly prepared, and ready for pickup or delivery at the promised time while providing a positive and professional guest experience.

Requirements

Order Specialist Qualifications

• Must be available to work a full-time rotating schedule, including opening, mid, and closing shifts, weekends, holidays, and peak periods based on business needs.
• Previous experience as an Order Specialist, Order Coordinator, Order Entry Specialist, Customer Service Representative, Retail Associate, Fulfillment Associate, or similar grocery, food-service, hospitality, or customer-service position preferred.
• Ability to receive and accurately process customer orders from in-store, phone, email, website, and approved third-party platforms.
• Comfortable using POS systems, phones, email, online-order platforms, and digital tools; experience with Odoo or another order-management system preferred.
• Ability to verify customer information, products, quantities, prices, substitutions, special instructions, pickup or delivery details, and payment status before finalizing orders.
• Strong organization and attention to detail with the ability to monitor multiple active orders and follow through until completion.
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers and internal departments, including Kitchen, Deli, Bakery, Grocery, Produce, Cashiers, and Delivery.
• Able to verify completed orders for correct items, quantities, packaging, labeling, presentation, and supporting documentation before customer handoff.
• Strong customer-service and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide professional updates regarding order status, substitutions, delays, modifications, or other order concerns.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multiple departments in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to assist with order pickup, bagging, register coverage, opening, closing, and general Front-End support as needed.
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
• Bilingual English and Spanish preferred, but not required.
