Job summary

Charlie's Produce is seeking reliable order selectors for an overnight shift starting at 5:00pm. You will use a hands-free voice pick system and a riding electric pallet jack to build organized pallets in a refrigerated environment, ensuring product integrity and accuracy for customer deliveries.

This role offers a starting wage of $20.00/hour plus a $1 swing shift differential, with overtime opportunities during busy seasons and a focus on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience with order picking and pallet building in food distribution is preferred.
• Voice pick system experience; Vocollect experience is a plus, training provided.
• At least 1 year of pallet-building experience.
• Ability to work in a refrigerated environment (35-56 degrees).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
• Safe, safety-conscious and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Pick orders via headset using a voice pick system with training to the user voice.
• Organize orders on pallets to maintain product integrity.
• Operate riding electric pallet jack; training provided.
• Follow food safety quality standards and company procedures.
• Work in a refrigerated environment (35-56 degrees).
• Lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
• Meet minimum pick rate and work independently with minimal supervision.

Job Description

Schedule: 5pm start time, days off TBD and will be communicated with job offer (split days).

Shift length will vary each day depending on customer order volume, providing opportunities for overtime especially during the busy season.

The Role: This position is responsible for picking and palletizing full case produce orders utilizing a “hands free” voice pick headset system while operating a riding pallet jack. These orders are picked with product integrity in mind and are wrapped and staged upon completion for delivery to the customer. We strive to maintain a safe warehouse environment while specializing in building organized orders with attention to quality and accuracy while meeting all food safety programs. This position requires maintaining a steady and consistent pace, as performance standards require meeting minimum pick rate requirements (pieces per hour).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):

• Pick orders via headset using a voice pick system with attention to accuracy; each user trains the system to their unique voice.
• Organize the orders on pallets as you pick to ensure product integrity (i.e. organic – fragile – etc.).
• Operateriding electric pallet jack, training & certificationprovided.
• Follow food safety quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations.
• Work in a refrigerated environment, 35-56 degrees.
• Lift up to 50lbs frequently.
• Manage time and pick rate independently and without direct supervision.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask in fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Preferred:

• Order picking / pallet building experience, prior work in food distribution a plus.
• Voice pick system experience; prior work with Vocollectexperience a plus, training provided.
• At least one (1) year experience building pallets.
• Electric pallet jack or other powered industrial truck experience (PIT) preferred, training & certification provided.
• Ability to adhere to food safety quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations.
• Ability to work in a refrigerated environment, 35-56 degrees constantly.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs frequently.
• Ability to manage time and workload effectively.
• Ability to multitask in fast-paced environment.
