Job summary

NewCold is seeking an Order Selector to support our cold storage and automated warehouse operations in Tacoma, WA. You will identify cases in a multi-level rack system using WMS, wrap pallets, label shipments, and stage orders for timely delivery.

Safety, quality, and efficiency are core to every shift. Ideal candidates are comfortable in temperatures around -5 degrees, able to lift up to 50 lbs, and can stand for long periods while meeting KPI targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Stand-up forklift experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in cold environments.
• Ability to stand for long periods and operate in shifts.

Responsibilities

• Operate safely and maintain high quality standards.
• Organize, pull, pack, palletize, repack, order select, wrap and label orders.
• Move pallets using forklift or equipment and follow KPI guidelines.
• Comply with safety procedures and complete paperwork accurately.
• Maintain attendance and perform additional duties as needed.

Your role as a Order Selector

Key responsibilities:

Position Overview

As an Order Selector, you will be utilizing our WMS software to identify cases to fill customer orders from multi-level rack warehouse storage systems. Cases are stacked on pallets once order is complete, you will wrap and label the pallet then move to the staging area in a timely manner, while ensuring all NewCold Safety & Quality standards are followed. This position will report to the Pick Floor Supervisor or Pick Floor Lead.

• Shift: FRIDAY- TUESDAY 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
  MONDAY- FRIDAY 6:00 PM - 2:30 AM

Roles and Responsibilities

• Operate in a manner where safety and quality are the highest importance.
• Ensuring work area is safe and report any unsafe conditions and/or acts immediately.
• Organize, pull, pack, palletize, re-case, order select, replenish, wrap, & label orders consistently and accurately per customer and NewCold KPI’s.
• Lift cases repeatedly - cases weigh an average of 35 pounds, 50 pounds.
• Stacking pallets or materials in the correct manner, following inventory control instructions.
• Maintain regular, dependable attendance, and a high level of performance.
• Wearing all NewCold and OSHA mandated personal protective equipment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of company safety programs.
• Safely & efficiently operate Forklift equipped with forks, or clamper, to move customer products.
• Remove batteries requiring recharging, replace with charged batteries, or attach re-charger.
• Prior to operation complete forklift/equipment inspection checklist.
• Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate & timely manner.
• Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Able to work with a team, take direction and follow work rules, as well as take on additional job responsibilities as needed.

We are seeking motivated and forward-thinking individuals who thrive incollaborative and fast-moving environments. Our ideal candidate has:

Experience

• Standup Forklift experience preferred but not required.
• Satisfactorily pass forklift driving training program while demonstrating safe handling of forklift in an on-site test.
• Able to work in -5 degrees temperatures for hours at a time.
• Able to repeatedly lift customer products weighing up to 50 lbs. each, safely manipulating product from overhead and floor level and placing on pallet at floor level and overhead.
• Able repeatedly to hand wrap pallets using provided tools moving from floor level to overhead.
• Ability to work multiple shifts from 8-10 hours, sometimes standing for several hours at a time.
• Ability to maintain single task focus and situational awareness.
• Able to stand for 8 hours.
• This position is considered a safety sensitive position.

Education/Certification

• High school diploma or equivalent.
