Job summary

Central Garden & Pet's Green Garden Products in Norton, MA seeks an Inside Sales / Customer Service Representative to work onsite at our Norton facility. This full-time, non-exempt role focuses on order processing, data entry, AR tasks, and customer account support, with responsibilities spanning shipping notices, invoicing, and billing file preparation.

The ideal candidate will have basic Excel skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Review and enter incoming orders with accuracy.
• Schedule truck appointments to ensure shipments are picked up on schedule.
• Communicate with Ohio team on daily shipments.
• Process advanced shipping notifications (ASN) for shipping.
• Retrieve return forms from FedEx Ground shipments.
• Issue return credits toward customer invoices.
• Process invoices and create FedEx Ground labels.
• Process authorizations on orders.
• Pick seed packet orders in the warehouse.
• Mail Slot ID cards to customers via USPS.
• Enter data from the warehouse into Access.
• Make outbound customer service and AR collection calls.
• Collaborate with team members to support customer account inquiries.
• Prepare billing files to produce invoices within billing cycles.
• Manage accounts receivable data in the accounting system.
• Research and resolve customer A/R account issues.
• Reconcile AR roll‑forward and aging on a weekly basis.
• Generate and maintain Standard Operating Procedures.
• Perform general office duties such as filing, data entry, mail sorting and distribution.
• Work on special projects as needed during shipping and return seasons.

About the Role

Green Garden Products, a subsidiary of Central Garden & Pet, is a leading supplier of high‑quality flower and vegetable seeds. We are seeking an Inside Sales / Customer Service Representative to work onsite in our Norton, MA facility. This is a full‑time, non‑exempt position.

What You’ll Do

The Order Processing Specialist will maintain a working knowledge of procedures and controls supportive of data entry, logistics, billing, and accounts receivable calls. Tasks include reviewing and entering incoming orders accurately, scheduling truck appointments, communicating with the Ohio team about daily shipments, processing advanced shipping notifications, retrieving return forms, issuing return credits, processing invoices, creating FedEx Ground labels, handling authorized orders, picking seed packet orders in the warehouse, mailing ID cards, entering data from the warehouse into Access, making outbound customer service and AR collection calls, providing customer account support, preparing billing files, managing AR customer data, researching and resolving AR issues, reconciling AR roll‑forward and aging, generating SOP documentation, performing general office duties, and participating in special projects. The position pays $18 to $20 per hour based on experience.
