Job summary

Global Roles in Detroit, MI seeks a Shipping/Receiving Associate responsible for receiving, processing, packing and shipping hospital blood products and samples. You will ensure quality, maintain records, and communicate with hospital clients, volunteers and vendors.

Key duties include inventory management, data entry, and prioritizing work to meet production goals. The role may involve hospital deliveries and requires standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and possibly working in cold storage

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years’ experience in a regulatory, distribution or manufacturing environment preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Good computer skills, attention to detail, accurate documentation, and good decision-making skills.
• Position may require a valid driver’s license.
• Requires standing, stretching, stooping and bending for extended time periods.

Responsibilities

• Receive, process, pack and ship blood products/samples for hospital orders.
• Ensure products are suitable for release and meet production goals.
• Perform inventory management throughout manufacturing and shipping.

• Perform data entry for manufacturing, labeling, storage, ordering, and shipping; maintain records.
• Analyze and make decisions based on inspection and information from other departments.
• Identify and quarantine products that don’t meet quality requirements and dispose of unacceptable product.
• May make hospital deliveries as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Ensure products/samples are suitable for release for distribution, while meeting production goals
• Perform good inventory management practices throughout the manufacturing and shipping process
• Prioritize workload to meet production and customer requirements
• Perform data entry associated with further manufacturing, labeling, storage, ordering, and shipping; maintain and review accurate physical and electronic manufacturing records
• Analyze and make decisions based on visual inspection and information provided from other departments to meet time requirements and quality standards
• Identify and quarantine products/samples that don’t meet quality requirements, and perform disposition of unacceptable product
• May make hospital deliveries as assigned

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Two years’ experience in a regulatory, distribution or manufacturing environment is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Good computer skills, attention to detail, accurate documentation, and good decision-making skills
• Position may require a valid driver’s license
• Requires standing, stretching, stooping and bending for extended time periods
• Lift, pull, push and move objects of up to 50 pounds
• May work in walk-in refrigerator/freezers for periods of time
• May be required to wear protective clothing such as lab coats, gloves, face shields, etc.
