Job summary

J. W. Pepper in Lithia Springs, GA is seeking an Order Shipper to quality check, package, label and manifest customer orders to company standards.

You will be cross trained in shipping, handling, stock put away and inventory control to support peak season throughput. Responsibilities include verifying contents, packing properly, resolving shipping issues, sorting by carrier, and following safety guidelines.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Verify box or tote contents match the customers order.
• Pack product securely in the appropriate shipping box or envelope.
• Remove any unnecessary product labels and/or work orders.
• Repack order boxes to the appropriate size when needed.
• Troubleshoot shipping issues and work to resolve them.
• Sort orders by carrier and ship method.
• Identify picking errors sending those order back to the appropriate pick zone.
• Gather extra product found in orders to be returned to the inventory dept.
• Close carriers daily at the appropriate scheduled time
• Shippers must meet production standards during peak season
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines
• Follow company policies as outlined in the employee handbook
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and stocked with necessary supplies

Job Description

The order shipper is responsible for accurately quality checking, packaging, labeling and manifesting customer orders in a manner that meets company standards for quality and productivity. Responsible for the completeness and the accuracy of all orders. In an effort, to provide the highest level of customer service, all warehouse associates will be cross trained to be proficient in shipping, package handling, stock put away and replenishment, other basic inventory control functions, and basic receiving functions. Compensatino will be $17 an hour.

Job Responsibilities

• Verify box or tote contents match the customers order
• Securely organize and pack product in the appropriate shipping box or envelope
• Remove any unnecessary product labels and/or work orders

• Physical strength – Must be able to lift 30+ lbs frequently
• Physical stamina – Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods; Must be capable of twisting, stooping, squatting, bending, climbing and reaching above shoulder level on a frequent basis
• Must be able to count accurately and perform simple math

• Effective communication with supervisors and team members
