Job summary

Wausau Tile is seeking an Order Picker- Shipper to efficiently stage and load materials, operate forklifts, and manage inbound/outbound shipments in alignment with production schedules. You will handle pallets, labeling, and data entry within MES, while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, production paperwork, and spec sheets.

Responsibilities

• Material Handling & Staging: Retrieve and stage materials from indoor and outdoor storage areas; operate forklifts and other material handling equipment; perform inventory transactions in MES; assist with waste management and routine equipment maintenance.
• Product Loading & Packaging: Load outbound trucks, band, wrap and label pallets; record data in the tracking system; move products using lifts and forklifts between workstations.
• General Duties & Safety: Maintain a clean, safe work area; assist with snow removal and yard duties; comply with PPE usage and safety checks; emphasize personal and team safety.

Position Overview:Wausau Tile is seeking an Order- Picker- Shipper who is hardworking, safety-conscious, and quality-driven. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working both independently and within a team environment with minimal supervision. This role is vital in ensuring raw materials and finished products are handled, staged, and shipped in compliance with production schedules and quality standards.Key Responsibilities:Material Handling & Staging:Retrieve and stage materials from both indoor and outdoor storage areas.Operate forklifts, bobcats, and front-end loaders to transport materials.Perform inventory transactions using MES (Manufacturing Execution System).Assist with waste management, including loading dump trucks and dumpsters.Perform routine inspections and minor maintenance on material handling equipment.Product Loading & Packaging:Load outbound trucks, flatbed trailers, and containers with finished products securely.Band, wrap, and label pallets, recording data in the tracking system.Use electric floor lifts and forklifts to move products between workstations and staging areas.Perform manual lifting and team lifting for heavy materials.General Duties & Safety:Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, including sweeping and cleaning workstations.Assist with snow removal, yard grading, and filling potholes as needed.Adhere to all safety protocols, including PPE usage and equipment safety checks.Take responsibility for personal and team safety, working closely with supervisors and the Safety Director.Required Skills & Qualifications:Ability to read and interpret blueprints, production paperwork, and spec sheets.Proficiency with measuring equipment and basic hand tools.Mechanically inclined and comfortable operating forklifts and other heavy equipment.Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking.Flexible, dependable, and possess a strong sense of responsibility and urgency.Wausau Tile is an Equal Opportunity Employer and an Affirmative Action Plan Employer.
