Job summary

Lakeshore Learning Materials, LLC is seeking an Order Department Manager to lead and optimize order processing for educators, schools, and families. You will set pace, remove obstacles, and build a high-performing team that excels during peak seasons.

You will own daily operations, coordinate across departments, and drive root-cause analyses to prevent recurring issues, all from our hybrid Carson, CA office with cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent education and work experience.
• 4+ years leading order management teams.
• 5+ years hands-on order processing or customer service operations.
• Experience with staffing, scheduling, and workload planning in high-volume, deadline-driven settings.
• Experience resolving complex billing, pricing, or compliance issues across multiple departments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP or a comparable ERP system.
• Hybrid schedule based out of the Carson, CA office.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and retain a team of order processing professionals with clear expectations and coaching.
• Own daily order operations and balance workload across queues.
• Investigate order errors and billing disputes to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Serve as escalation point for Sales, Customer Service, Quotes, Distribution, and IT.
• Track team productivity, quality, and queue KPIs; report insights to leadership.
• Keep SOPs current; collaborate with IT on system improvements and testing.
• Plan and execute seasonal capacity, recruiting and onboarding temporary staff during peak seasons.
