Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Accurately pick, stage, prepare, verify, and load orders, transfers, deliveries, and will-call items per procedures.
  • Receive, inspect, unload, verify, label, and stock inbound materials within timelines.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through proper product placement, staging, and ERP transactions.
  • Utilize ERP systems, RF scanners, and warehouse tech to complete transactions accurately.
  • Identify and communicate inventory discrepancies, safety issues, and operational concerns to leadership in a timely manner.
  • Support inventory accuracy by participating in cycle counts and audits.

Position Overview

The Order Fulfillment Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations, efficiency, organization, and customer service standards of the warehouse while embracing and modeling “The Wayne Way” in all aspects of daily work and team interaction. This position is responsible for supporting warehouse operations through accurate order fulfillment, receiving, inventory handling, staging, material movement, and maintaining a safe, organized, and productive warehouse environment.

Order Fulfillment Specialists are expected to work collaboratively as part of the operations team while maintaining high standards for safety, accuracy, accountability, reliability, and customer service. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to support changing operational demands in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Success in this role requires the ability to work safely, efficiently, and accurately while supporting team goals, operational workflow, and customer expectations. Order Fulfillment Specialists are expected to take ownership of their responsibilities, maintain professionalism, communicate effectively, and contribute positively to the overall culture and success of the operation.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Accurately pick, stage, prepare, verify, and load customer orders, transfers, delivery shipments, and will-call orders according to Company procedures and operational standards.
  • Receive, inspect, unload, verify, label, and stock inbound materials accurately and efficiently within established operational timelines.
  • Maintain accurate inventory handling practices through proper product placement, scanning, staging, movement, and ERP transaction procedures.
  • Utilize ERP systems, RF scanners, warehouse technology, and operational documentation to complete inventory transactions and warehouse processes accurately.
  • Identify and communicate inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, shipping errors, product shortages, operational concerns, and safety issues to warehouse leadership in a timely manner.
  • Support inventory accuracy by participating in cycle counts, inventory verification processes, product audits, and discrepancy resolution activities.
  • Assist with material movement, staging, loading, unloading, pipe handling, and warehouse organization activities as assigned.
  • Safely operate or become certified to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, pallet jacks, and warehouse material handling equipment in accordance with Company safety procedures.
  • Maintain warehouse organization, housekeeping, aisle cleanliness, staging areas, and operational cleanliness standards throughout assigned work areas.
  • Support pipe shop, receiving, picking, staging, and warehouse operational functions as needed based on business demands and workflow priorities.
  • Greet and assist customers, drivers, vendors, and fellow employees in a professional, respectful, and customer-focused manner.
  • Follow all Company policies, OSHA requirements, warehouse operational procedures, and safety standards at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse leadership and team members regarding workflow priorities, operational concerns, inventory issues, and customer needs.
  • Maintain flexibility and willingness to support changing operational demands, cross-training opportunities, overtime needs, and additional warehouse responsibilities as assigned.

  • Ability to safely lift, move, push, pull, and carry materials weighing 70 pounds or more on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, kneel, and navigate warehouse facilities for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Dependable attendance, punctuality, reliability, and consistent work performance required.
  • Experience with plumbing, PVF, industrial, warehouse, or distribution products is preferred but not required.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, inventory, logistics, or material handling experience preferred.
  • Experience utilizing RF scanners, warehouse systems, or ERP systems preferred.
  • Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, or warehouse material handling equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures, inventory handling, order fulfillment, and warehouse operations preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and move throughout warehouse facilities for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 70 pounds or more safely.
  • Must be able to safely operate warehouse equipment and navigate warehouse aisles, storage racks, loading docks, staging areas, and material storage locations.
  • Must possess sufficient vision, hearing, and coordination to safely perform warehouse operations and equipment operation duties.
  • Must be able to access and navigate all operational areas of the warehouse and Company facilities safely and efficiently.
