Job description

Key Responsibilities, Tasks and Activities:
  • Facilitate shipping and receiving from UPS/FEDEX, checking in freight, matching purchase orders to orders received, updating the inventory and scanning and distributing the information to the correct personnel.
  • Sort stock and place materials on racks, shelves and bins in an organized fashion.
  • Pull orders and properly stage.
  • Prepare jobs for the field crews; clean rails, pull stock supplies, planks, oil, etc.
  • Ensure that the warehouse is accessible and safe for service technicians, office staff and customer traffic.
  • Assemble both internal and external customers orders from stock, and place orders on pallets, shelves, or staging area for easy access during pickup.
  • Ensure correct labels are attached to all order processed, inbound and outbound.
  • Open box, crates, and other containers as needed to check for shipping damage.
  • Maintain hazardous materials for proper storage or disposal of oils and absorbent.
  • Maintain an area where materials are protected from the elements.
  • Dispose of any broken down containers, crates, loose nuts, bolts, screws and cardboard.
  • Maintain employees facilities, warehouse and office duties as needed.
  • Ensure that warehouse, showroom and desk areas are clean.
  • Organize warehouse, yard and work area for orderliness at all times.
  • Operate a variety of warehouse equipment and vehicles.
  • Utilize a variety of hand tools and handle with safety.
  • Use and wear the proper safety equipment as required.
Qualifications:
  • Modern warehousing and storekeeping skills that include, but are not limited to: shipping, receiving; issuing materials and parts, correct and organize storage, optimum space utilization and stock inventory procedures.
  • Must adhere to and understand all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
  • Solid mechanical skills.
  • Preferred experience with Salesforce and Sage.
  • Knowledgeable in basic hand tool and power tool functions.
  • Highly proficient in technological skills such as email, Internet, scanner usage, and data input.
  • Ability to operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and pallet jack.
  • Solid writing and grammar skills.
  • Highly organized, punctual and reliable.
  • Successfully prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Trustworthy and maintains confidentiality.
  • Clean Driving Record and follows all traffic laws.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged sitting and standing; walking, bending, twisting and stooping.
  • Frequent telephone, must be able to speak and hear well enough to communicate with others.
  • Must be able to see well enough to read the computer screen.
  • Grasping/Feeling: must be able to write, type, manipulate a mouse and use telephone system.
  • Ability to think and process information quickly, clearly and accurately.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Experience in proper lifting techniques.
  • Ability to push, pull and perform overhead work.
  • Ability to work on ladders.
  • Use fingers/fine manipulation.
