Job summary

Desert Financial Credit Union in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a motivated Automation Intern who will assist in building and testing automation workflows, and learn orchestration modules under guidance of senior engineers.

You will gain exposure to IT systems, cloud concepts, REST APIs, and scripting with Python, PowerShell, or Bash, while supporting documentation, testing, and basic configuration tasks in Terraform, Ansible, or Azure DevOps.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Currently enrolled in a degree program for CS/IT or related field.
• Basic exposure to scripting or automation through coursework.
• Coursework with cloud platforms or REST APIs preferred.
• Basic REST/JSON/XML concepts required.
• Exposure to Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building and testing automation workflows and integrations.
• Support onboarding, endpoint management, and SaaS tasks.
• Document automation runbooks and SOPs for team/audit reference.
• Assist with monitoring and troubleshooting automation and orchestration workflows.
• Learn infrastructure-as-code basics with Terraform/Ansible/Azure DevOps under supervision.
• Support compliance automation tasks per IT policies and procedures.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
