Job summary

SwitchThink Solutions LLC is seeking an Orchestration and Automation Engineer Intern in Phoenix. You will assist in designing and testing automation workflows, etc.

You will work hybrid with senior engineers guiding you through endpoint management, SaaS administration, and API integrations. Ideal candidates are enrolled in an IT-related degree, have basic scripting knowledge (Python/PowerShell/Bash), and understand REST APIs.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a degree program related to Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or similar field.
• High school diploma or GED required; pursuing IT-related degree preferred.
• Basic exposure to scripting, IT systems, or automation concepts through coursework or projects.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and XML concepts is expected.
• Exposure to scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash) is beneficial.
• Familiarity with Windows and Linux environments is preferred.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building and testing automation workflows and integrations across enterprise IT systems.
• Support onboarding, endpoint management, and SaaS administration tasks through scripting and automation tools.
• Assist with configuring and testing API-based integrations (REST, JSON, XML) between ITSM, identity, and asset systems.
• Document automation runbooks, workflows, integrations, and standard operating procedures for the team and audits.
• Monitor and troubleshoot automation workflows, escalating issues to senior engineers as needed.
• Gain exposure to infrastructure-as-code through basic scripting with Terraform, Ansible, or Azure DevOps.
• Support compliance-related automation tasks in line with IT policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
