Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation seeks a Member of the Technical Staff in Flight Mechanics to provide expert trajectory design and astrodynamics analysis for launch vehicles and spacecraft. The role spans LEO to GEO, performing propulsion analyses and CONOPS development in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include operational support for launches and anomaly resolution, plus development of new flight dynamics tools and AI/ML-based capabilities. U.S.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or pursuing in aeronautical/astronautical engineering, physics or applied mathematics.
• 0–1 years of experience in flight mechanics, astrodynamics, trajectory optimization, or related areas.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages: C, C++, Fortran, Python, Javascript, Linux, MATLAB.

Responsibilities

• Trajectory design and optimization for launch vehicles and spacecraft across LEO, MEO, HEO, GEO and other regimes.
• Astrodynamics analysis including orbit propagation and maneuver design for various operations.
• Analyze vehicles with chemical and/or electric propulsion.
• Evaluate threat performance and resiliency for space systems in contested missions.
