Job summary

Allied OMS in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a dedicated Surgical Assistant to support our oral surgeons throughout the surgical process. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, with a focus on patient comfort and safety, and able to work within a collaborative team.

Experience in dental assisting is valued, though not mandatory. The role includes radiography, impressions, charting, infection control, and post-op support, with CPR certification required or provided training.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in oral surgery/dental is advantageous but not mandatory.
• A strong work ethic, good people skills, and a willingness to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a kind and friendly manner; take radiographs including periapical, bitewing, panorex, cone beam CT.
• Be proficient in digital and non-digital impressions; review medical history and enter information into chart.
• Understand medical history to alert doctors of issues; monitor vital signs and inform doctors of abnormal findings.
• Assist surgeons with instrumentation and infection control; prepare operatory and sterilize instruments.
• Assist in training new employees; support doctors in emergency management and post-op instructions.
• Maintain CPR certification and arrive 15 minutes prior to first scheduled patient.
