ALLIED OMS NEWCO LLC in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a dedicated Surgical Assistant to support our oral surgeons, ensuring efficient workflow and patient-centered care throughout the surgical process. The ideal candidate has a passion for patient comfort and safety and strong technical skills.

Prior dental assisting experience is encouraged but not required; a strong work ethic, good people skills, and a willingness to learn are essential. Training in CPR is provided.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in oral surgery/dental is advantageous however not mandatory.
• A strong work ethic, good people skills, and a willingness to learn and grow is most important.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a kind and friendly manner.
• Take all radiographs including periapical, bitewing, panorex, cone beam CT.
• Be proficient in both digital and non-digital impressions.
• Review medical history and enter all information properly into chart.
• Understand medical history to sufficiently alert doctors of issues affecting oral surgery.
• Utilize monitors to record vital signs and inform doctors of potentially abnormal findings.
• Efficiently assist surgeons with awareness of all instrumentation.
• Be aware of infection control protocol.
• Clean operatory following surgery, prepare for next case.
• Appropriately clean used instruments, prepare for sterilization, operate/clean autoclave, replace sterile instrumentation.
• Be responsible with IV medication preparation and documentation.
• Assist in training new employees when indicated.
• Assist doctors in medical emergency management.
• Assist discharge personnel with post‑op instructions, emergency management.
• Assist reception personnel if necessary.
• Maintain CPR Certification (training provided by employer).
• Arrive 15 minutes prior to first scheduled patient unless alternative arrival approved by doctor.
• Interact with co‑workers in a professional manner.
• Maintain a presentable, professional appearance.
