Job summary

Heartland Dental in Round Rock, TX is seeking an Oral Surgery Dental Assistant to join our team and support our state-of-the-art practice. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with Dentrix, have surgical experience, and be a positive asset to our family.

You’ll assist during a wide range of procedures, maintain patient comfort, manage scheduling and records in Dentrix, and ensure safety protocols are followed. We offer competitive benefits and ongoing training in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of dental procedures and terminology.
• Experience in fast-paced customer-centric environment.
• Dental assistant certification and/or x-ray certification as required.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• HIPAA training and PHI protection awareness.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome patients from the start of their dental journey, educate during treatment.
• Review patient health history to provide quality care.
• Take and process x-rays and diagnostic assessments (iTero 3D scanner, digital photography).
• Provide chairside assistance (four-handed dentistry) to dentists during procedures.
• Utilize Dentrix for scheduling and record keeping.
• Prepare treatment room with safety protocols (OSHA & CDC).
• Manage supplies and inventory levels and place/expedite orders.
• Partner with providers and team to implement Heartland Dental systems and maximize workflow.
