Job summary

Virginia Oral & Facial Surgery in Midlothian, VA is seeking an Oral Surgery Assistant to join a fast-paced team that delivers compassionate, patient-centered care. You will support the surgeon, prepare instruments, and help manage patients throughout the procedure and recovery.

Responsibilities include taking digital x-rays, documenting charts, and ensuring sterile environments while upholding high standards of patient safety and comfort.

Qualifications

• One year of dental assisting or surgery tech experience required; oral and maxillofacial surgery experience preferred.
• Understanding of sterilization principles is required.
• Understanding of HIPAA is required.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Familiar with anatomy and dental terminology pertaining to oral surgery.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care with empathy before, during, and after procedures.
• Assist surgeon with evaluations, surgeries, and post-op visits.
• Take digital x-rays and models.
• Document patient charts accurately during evaluations, surgical procedures, and post-op appointments.
• Prepare surgical trays and rooms for procedures.
• Maintain sterilization of instruments, laboratories, and treatment rooms.
• Complete clinical and pharmacy logs according to practice standards.
