Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking an Oracle System Administrator to manage Oracle databases and OCI services both on-prem and in the cloud. Responsibilities include provisioning, patching, backups, upgrades, performance tuning, and security management.

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of Oracle-related system administration experience, with OEM/Performance Hub knowledge and scripting abilities. Office location in Minneapolis, MN with standard benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of combined system administration experience in Oracle databases, Oracle Applications, or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
• Experience administering Oracle databases.
• Experience with backup and recovery processes.
• Experience with database refresh and cloning procedures.
• Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) or Performance Hub
• Knowledge of shell scripting, python, PowerShell, SQL, PL/SQL or other languages

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Oracle database environments on-prem and in the cloud.
• Maintain and test database backup and recovery strategies.
• Monitor database performance and perform tuning activities.
• Provision, configure, patch, upgrade, and support database and OCI services.
• Execute database and application refreshes to support non-production environments.
• Troubleshoot Oracle platform issues.
• Manage database and application security, user provisioning, and access permissions.
• Monitor system integrity and proactively identify risks or improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to support Oracle application systems.
