Job description

  • Location: US (Remote - NO Travel Required)

We are partnering with a leading global consulting firm to hire an Oracle EPM Consulting Manager into its growing Public Sector practice.

This is a client-facing, hands-on leadership position supporting a major Federal Government client with its Oracle EPM environment. The role sits at the intersection of solution architecture, functional consulting and technical delivery - ideal for someone who can lead conversations with senior stakeholders, understand complex planning requirements, determine the right solution, and still get into the application and build it themselves.

The consulting firm has an established Oracle practice and significant experience delivering large-scale finance and technology transformation programs across the Public Sector. Its Oracle EPM capabilities span planning and budgeting, profitability and cost analysis, master data/data governance, financial reporting and broader finance transformation.

The Federal Client works a strict 9 - 5pm, with no travel, so perfect for someone who wants to get out of the weekly travel, but still stay in Consulting!!!

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead client workshops to understand budgeting, planning, forecasting and reporting requirements, translating business needs into scalable Oracle EPM solutions.

  • Own key solution and architectural decisions across the EPBCS environment, advising the client on design, configuration and best practices.

  • Remain hands-on within Oracle EPBCS, including application configuration, metadata, forms, calculations, integrations, reporting and ongoing enhancements.

  • Design, develop and troubleshoot business rules and calculation logic, with Groovy experience highly desirable.

  • Lead workstreams through the full implementation lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design through build, testing, deployment and post-go-live support.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders, confidently challenging requirements where appropriate and recommending more effective solutions.

  • Review technical designs and development completed by other team members, ensuring quality, scalability and alignment with the overall architecture.

  • Mentor and provide direction to more junior Oracle EPM consultants while continuing to contribute directly to delivery.

  • Support solutions involving Oracle Profitability and Cost Management (PCM) and Enterprise Data Management (EDM) where required.

  • Partner with both finance and technology stakeholders, bridging the gap between complex business requirements and technical EPM capabilities.

Job Requirements

  • Strong consulting experience implementing Oracle EPM Cloud, with particular depth in Planning / PBCS / EPBCS.

  • Proven experience leading requirements and design conversations directly with clients.

  • Ability to take a requirement from "this is what the business needs" through to "this is how we should architect and build it."

  • Strong hands-on EPBCS configuration and development experience.

  • Experience developing business rules, calculations and complex planning logic.

Nice to haves:

  • Groovy scripting experience is highly desirable, but not essential.

  • Experience with PCM / PCMCS / Enterprise Profitability and Cost Management

  • Experience with EDM / EDMCS

  • Experience leading workstreams and mentoring junior consultants.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to operate comfortably with both technical teams and senior client stakeholders.

Eligibility & Working Environment

Due to the Federal nature of the engagement, candidates must be U.S. Citizens and currently based in the United States.

One of the major attractions of this opportunity is the working environment. While this is a Manager-level consulting role, the Federal client operates within a structured 9-5 schedule, offering considerably more predictable hours than many traditional consulting engagements.

This makes the opportunity particularly attractive for an experienced Oracle EPM consultant who still enjoys complex implementations and client-facing work, but wants to combine that with greater stability and work-life balance.

Why Consider It?

This is an opportunity to join a highly established Oracle consulting practice while taking genuine ownership of a major client environment.

Rather than choosing between architecture, client leadership or hands-on development, you'll have exposure to all three: understanding what the client needs, deciding how the solution should be designed, and remaining close enough to the technology to help build it.

For someone who wants to progress as an Oracle EPM leader without becoming completely removed from the product, this offers a particularly strong next step.
