Job summary

Commercial Programming Systems, Inc. (CPS) is seeking an experienced Oracle Apps DBA leader to support enterprise Oracle E-Business Suite environments for major organisations.

This role emphasizes strong technical depth, client communication, and a continuous-improvement mindset within Managed Services. The position may be remote or office-based in a scalable, security-conscious MSP setting, with two possible shifts (Tue-Sat or Sun-Thu) and a focus on high availability, performance, and upgrades

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Oracle Apps DBA experience.
• Expert-level Oracle EBS R12 administration including installation, configuration, cloning, upgrades, patching, and AD utilities.
• Strong Oracle database administration experience in Linux environments (security, upgrades, patching, performance tuning, backup/recovery).
• Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, CRS, RMAN, Data Guard, OEM Grid Control, PL/SQL, shell scripting, and Perl scripting.
• Experience analyzing and troubleshooting Oracle E-Business Suite 11i and R12 components.
• Experience upgrading Oracle Database to 19c and EBS to 12.2.10.
• Strong written communication skills for policies, SOPs, and tech recommendations.
• Legal authorization to work in Canada and/or the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Administer Oracle EBS environments, including patching, upgrades, backup and recovery strategy, cloning, performance tuning, and optimization.
• Maintain multi-node Oracle E-Business Suite environments with Shared File System, Concurrent Managers, Concurrent Programs, Request Sets, Request Groups, and Workflows.
• Troubleshoot Workflow Mailer/Notification issues and complex EBS components across 11i and R12.
• Use Oracle RAC, ASM, CRS, RMAN, Data Guard, OAM, OEM Grid Control, PL/SQL, shell, and Perl scripting to support availability, automation, monitoring, and disaster recovery.
• Administer and maintain Oracle SOA Suite, Hyperion, OBIEE, and WebLogic Server to support ERP integration with legacy systems.
• Review, develop, recommend, and enforce database policies and standards related to high availability, replication, archiving, access, and security.
• Create SOPs for Oracle EBS installation and configuration, including high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
• Collaborate effectively with clients, internal teams, contractors, vendors, and business contacts.
