Job summary

The Department of Administrative Services (DAS) is hiring an Oracle Database Administrator (ISS8) to join Data Center Services. You will ensure stability and performance of Oracle databases, diagnose complex issues, and coordinate cross-agency solutions.

This role requires strong Oracle experience, familiarity with AIX and Unix, scripting, and a willingness to learn DB2; hybrid work with some in-office time.

Qualifications

• Seven years of information systems experience in Oracle database administration.
• An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two-year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND five years of Oracle database administration experience.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND three years (or one year for Master's) of Oracle database administration experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain stability and performance of IT systems that serve customers across the state.
• Diagnose complex problems in the AIX environment and onboard customers into the AIX/Oracle DB2 environment.
• Coordinate solutions between multiple agencies and automate processes for on-premise and cloud solutions.
• Architect the Oracle and DB2 database environments to meet the needs of DAS and its customers.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and implementation for Oracle services.
