Job summary

The State of Oregon's Department of Administrative Services seeks an Oracle Database Administrator (ISS8) to join the Middleware team in the Data Center Services. You will manage Oracle databases, explore DB2, and improve stability and performance across on-premise and cloud deployments.

Responsibilities include onboarding customers to AIX-based Oracle/DB2 environments, automating processes, and contributing to disaster recovery plans. Hybrid work with in-office presence weekly is available.

Qualifications

• Seven (7) years of information systems experience in Oracle database administration.
• An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND five (5) years of information systems experience in Oracle database administration.
• A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND three (3) years of information systems experience in Oracle database administration.
• Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND one (1) year of information systems experience in Oracle database administration.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the stability and performance of IT systems serving customer agencies.
• Diagnose complex problems in the AIX environment and onboard customers into the AIX/Oracle and DB2 environment.
• Provide expert-level support and coordinate solutions between multiple agencies and entities.
• Identify and automate processes for on-premise and cloud solutions; architect the Oracle and DB2 environments to meet needs; participate in disaster recovery planning and implementation.
• Backup duties related to DB2.
