Job summary

Yochana is seeking a senior database specialist to provide 24/7 support for Oracle, Postgres, MongoDB, MSSQL and Sybase across on-prem and cloud environments. You will lead migrations from on-prem to Private and Google Cloud, manage patching cycles, and resolve performance issues with durable fixes.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of database experience, Exadata expertise, and hands-on GCP/MongoDB skills. Strong scripting and HA/DR mindset are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years relevant database experience in IT support.
• 3+ years supporting Oracle Exadata Platform/Exadata Cloud at Customer (Exacc).
• OCM or equivalent proficiency.
• Hands-on with Google Cloud native databases and MongoDB.
• Strong SQL and scripting for automation.
• Experience with HA/DR, migrations, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 support for Oracle, Postgres, MongoDB, MSSQL and Sybase.
• Migrate databases from On-prem to Private and Google Cloud (GCP).
• Support Oracle and Non-Oracle patching activities.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and implement permanent fixes.
• Restore and recover databases on-demand.

Job description

Minimum 10 years relevant Database experience within the IT support industry, and 2 to 3 years of working experience in financial industry preferred.

Minimum 3 years’ experience supporting Oracle Exadata Platform/Exacc in a mid-size to large corporate environment (production support experience is a must)

OCM or equivalent proficiency.

Having hands-on experience in GCP native databases and mongodb.

Technical proficiency

Expertise in Oracle Exatadata cloud@customer platform.

Strong knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) and scripting languages (e.g. Shell script, PowerShell, Python etc. ) for automation.

Expertise with performance tuning, capacity planning, and high availability/disaster recovery solutions, Migration and troubleshooting.

Design GCP workloads for high performance, high availability and scalability.

Experience in oracle & google cloud in-rest and in-transit encryption.

Ability to apply technical principles when performing troubleshooting

Solid technical fluency with tools and systems i.e GitHub, confluence, Jira etc.

Knowledge of network and firewall concepts & architecture

Experience working with partners in different locations and cultures

Ability to manage conference calls with multiple attendees to resolve issues.

Ability to effectively articulate a status or plan to peers and clients.
