Qualifications

• Strong experience with Oracle Exadata (on-premises and cloud—EXACS/EXACC).
• Proven experience in large-scale cloud migration projects including lift-and-shift.
• Deep understanding of high-availability and disaster recovery architectures (Data Guard, RMAN).
• Experience with OCI networking concepts (VCN, subnets, load balancers, VPN, FastConnect).
• Knowledge of security, identity management, and compliance frameworks.
• 3+ years of experience designing for web and mobile applications.
• Experience deploying high-availability designs in multi-application environments.

We are seeking an Oracle Cloud Solution Architect for a 12-month contract position based in Alexandria, Virginia. In this role, you will design and architect enterprise solutions leveraging Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, guide large-scale cloud migration initiatives, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and high-availability systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect Oracle Cloud Infrastructure solutions aligned with enterprise requirements and best practices
• Lead and support large-scale cloud migration projects, including lift-and-shift and modernization initiatives
• Develop high-availability and disaster recovery architectures using Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, and backup/recovery strategies
• Design and optimize Oracle Exadata solutions for both on-premises and cloud deployments (EXACS/EXACC)
• Document application and data architectures using visualization tools such as MS Visio
• Coordinate software requirements with development teams and manage deployment of complex applications
• Oversee team management for the deployment of large, complex web and mobile applications
• Design networking solutions including Virtual Cloud Networks (VCN), subnets, load balancers, VPN, and FastConnect
• Implement security, identity management, and compliance frameworks within cloud environments
• Guide architecture decisions from conception through deployment, emphasizing performance tuning, logging, monitoring, microservices, and high-availability/scaling solutions
• Communicate technical solutions effectively to diverse stakeholders through verbal and written presentations

Qualifications

• Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Communications, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
  • 10+ years of experience with Oracle database technologies and enterprise architecture
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
  • Strong experience with Oracle Exadata (on-premises and cloud—EXACS/EXACC)
  • Proven experience in large-scale cloud migration projects, including lift-and-shift and modernization
  • Deep understanding of high-availability and disaster recovery architectures, Data Guard, RMAN, and backup/recovery strategies
  • Experience with OCI networking concepts including Virtual Cloud Networks, subnets, load balancers, VPN, and FastConnect
  • Strong knowledge of security, identity management, and compliance frameworks
  • At least 3 years of experience implementing architectural patterns and designs for web and mobile applications
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing high-availability and scaling solutions in complex, multi-application architectures
  • Expertise in integrating complex high-availability designs within complex network environments supporting multiple applications
  • Experience with Oracle database architecture and optimization for complex environments
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Visio or similar data and application visualization software
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel for software requirements documentation
  • Familiarity with MS Word and MS PowerPoint
  • Experience coordinating software requirements and working with development teams
  • Proven ability to plan and deploy custom COTS and middleware applications and process improvements
  • Experience performing the application architecture function from conception to deployment on large, complex solutions
• Preferred
  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure certifications, such as OCI Architect Professional
  • Experience with PeopleSoft (FSCM, HCM, EPM) and SOA/OIC integrations
  • Exposure to AI/ML and AIOps tools within the OCI ecosystem
  • Experience in the public sector or transit systems
  • Knowledge of multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, or OCI combinations)
  • Familiarity with DevOps, automation tools (Terraform, Ansible), and CI/CD pipelines
