Oracle Cloud PPM Lead Consultant (Reframed Job Description)

Job Summary
The Oracle Cloud PPM Lead Consultant is a senior professional responsible for managing mid-to-large client engagements and driving the growth and development of the consulting practice. This role provides expert advice, guidance, and solutions related to Oracle Cloud Project Portfolio Management (PPM) applications, helping clients optimize their technology infrastructure, processes, and strategies to achieve business objectives efficiently and effectively. The consultant will mentor other team members, demonstrate exceptional technical knowledge, and deliver high-quality work that drives customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multiple, complex consulting projects, ensuring effective project delivery and client satisfaction.
- Utilize deep expertise in Oracle Cloud PPM, including Resource Management, Task Management, Project Financials, Project Contract Billing, Time and Labor for Projects, and Grant Management.
- Serve as an industry expert in PPM business processes and best practices.
- Consult with clients to provide cost-effective solutions tailored to their business scenarios.
- Collaborate with project teams and client staff to develop, test, and implement Oracle Cloud solutions.
- Refine and document customer requirements, presenting them for client approval.
- Identify and apply creative solutions to resolve product implementation and integration challenges.
- Analyze current systems and data to identify new requirements and recommend enhancements or modifications as needed.
- Develop unit test scripts and coordinate User Acceptance Testing with clients.
- Work with Oracle to resolve service requests.
- Lead all phases of the system lifecycle, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, configuration, development, conference room pilots (CRP), user acceptance testing, go-live preparation, cut-over, and post-production support.
- Develop and implement long-term client strategies.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring clear communication with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with clients to understand business objectives and technology requirements, conducting thorough assessments to identify improvement opportunities.
- Provide expert advice on technology solutions to enhance client operations.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and suppliers, negotiating contracts as needed.
- Offer ongoing technical support post-implementation and continuously monitor solutions for optimization opportunities.
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
- Advanced degree (MBA, relevant master’s, or PhD) preferred.
Experience:
- 5–10+ years as an Oracle Functional Consultant, with at least 3 years implementing or supporting Oracle Cloud PPM projects and upgrades.
- Certified Oracle Cloud Project Portfolio Management Consultant (certification within the last two years).
- Strong consulting and business analytical skills for gathering and documenting requirements, leading fit-gap analysis, business process design, managing CRPs, functional configuration, and testing.
- Ability to lead teams, work independently, and manage multiple assignments.
- Senior-level experience in managing client expectations and maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, presentation, and communication skills.
- High commitment to exceeding performance expectations, with strong initiative, accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail.
- Professional approach in dealing with internal and external customers.
- Experience leading the complete software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, configuration, programming, and unit testing.
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Preferred: Consulting experience in a professional services firm or strategic industry role, and prior experience in IT companies.
