Job summary

A-TEK Inc. in Silver Spring, MD is seeking an Oracle Cloud Database Administrator to support our federal client. The role focuses on hands-on administration of hosted Oracle databases in OCI and requires collaboration with developers, infrastructure engineers, and client teams.

Location is Silver Spring, MD with onsite work and optional telework as assigned. The schedule is Monday–Friday, with on‑call support as needed. Strong Oracle, SQL/PLSQL, and Linux skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5–7 years of hands‑on Oracle database administration experience in production support.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related technical discipline, or a government‑approved experience substitution.
• Strong Oracle administration, SQL and PL/SQL, backup/recovery, performance troubleshooting, and Linux command‑line skills.
• Ability to explain technical issues clearly, document actions, collaborate with customer teams, and follow access and change procedures.

Responsibilities

• Administer Oracle databases; manage configuration, users, privileges, storage, routine maintenance, and operational requests.
• Monitor database health and performance; troubleshoot SQL, blocking, connectivity, capacity, and application database issues.
• Perform and validate backups and recovery; support availability, disaster recovery, patching, and version upgrades.
• Address database vulnerabilities and document remediation, maintenance procedures, changes, and incident resolution.
• Support batch jobs, reports, extracts, and development teams; coordinate changes with infrastructure and security personnel.
• Use OCI tools for assigned administration tasks and assist with database migration or Autonomous Database work as directed.
