Job summary

Montclair Hospital Medical Center, part of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a qualified Operating Room Tech for Day shift. The role involves preparing sterile supplies and maintaining a sterile field, assisting the surgeon with instruments during procedures, and ensuring patient safety in a busy OR environment.

Minimum education includes a high school diploma or equivalent with ORT training or 3 years surgical experience preferred; BLS certification is required on hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required for new hires
• Graduate of an ORT training program or 3 years of surgical experience preferred
• Experience scrubbing procedures in GYN, General, Plastics, ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro etc.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate required on hire and maintained
• Strong teamwork and attention to sterile technique

Responsibilities

The Operating Room Tech is responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintaining sterile field during case and providing surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• Graduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years experience (surgical setting preferred).
• Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties, (i.e., GYN, General and Plastics).
• Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas (i.e., ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro. Etc.).
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
