Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an experienced perioperative nurse for the Ortho Spine service. The role involves 40 hours per week with 10-hour shifts, including on-call coverage and weekend work as required.

The RN will circulate and scrub in surgical cases, coordinate with OR staff and surgeons, and educate patients and families while ensuring adherence to safety standards. Massachusetts RN license and BLS are required; ACLS/PALS are preferred depending on case mix.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in MA required; BLS current.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• 3–5 years circulating and scrubbing in surgical specialties.
• CNOR certification within 2 years of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient status and plan care within surgical specialty.
• Coordinate perioperative care with surgeons and OR staff.
• Maintain and update patient care documentation and materials.
• Provide patient/family education and ensure safety and compliance.
• Participate in on-call coverage within 30 minutes of travel.
