Job summary

WellSpan Health in York, PA seeks an entry-level Surgical Technologist to support the operating room. You will prepare rooms, assist the surgical team, and maintain sterile technique to ensure safe, efficient patient care.

Day shift, full-time position with no weekends or holidays. Rotation between hospital and ambulatory settings may be required to meet service needs and staffing coverage.

Qualifications

• Entry-level role requiring surgical technology training or certification.
• Familiarity with aseptic technique and sterile processing.
• Willingness to rotate between hospital and ambulatory settings if assigned.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room for cases by setting up table, instruments and supplies according to type of case.
• Prepares rooms between procedures and after terminal cleaning. Monitors and restocks supplies.
• Drapes patients for surgical procedures.
• Assists the surgical team during operative procedures.
• Maintains aseptic techniques; actively monitors situations which could lead to breaches in aseptic technique.
• Assists surgeons during operations by retracting tissues under direction.
• Identifies and cares for specimens.
• IF ASSIGNED TO GETTYSBURG HOSPITAL OR WELLSPAN SURGICAL CENTER: May be required to rotate work between the hospital and an ambulatory setting.
