Job summary

OSS Health in York, PA, is seeking a Surgical Technologist for our Ambulatory Surgery Center. This full-time, on-site role supports the OR team under RN supervision, ensuring a safe and efficient surgical experience.

Schedule is Tuesday through Friday, 6:30am–5:00pm, with opportunities for professional development and competitive compensation. Qualifications include a high school diploma, certification preferred, and BLS within 1 year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification as a Surgical Technologist strongly preferred.
• New Surgical Tech Graduates must obtain certification within 6 months.
• BLS certification required or the ability to obtain within 1 year.
• Previous work experience in an Ambulatory Surgical facility or acute care setting; 3+ years preferred.
• Ability to plan and organize work; proficient computer skills; effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and checks assigned cases for instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment for each procedure.
• Follows aseptic technique when opening sterile supplies and setting up cases.
• Maintains an orderly back table and mayo stand during procedures.
• Assists Circulating Nurse with sponge, needle and instrument counts and reports discrepancies.
• Demonstrates proper handling of instruments to avoid damage and loss; keeps surgeon preference cards up to date.
• Demonstrates scrub duties and assists with dressings and patient transfers; sets up next case.
