Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in the operating room under the guidance of the Operations Manager for Surgical Services. You will prepare supplies, assist in procedures, and ensure patient safety in ambulatory surgery.

The role requires BLS, ORT certification, VA license, and at least two years of OR experience, with a focus on asepsis and quality care. The position is on-site in Virginia.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required and actively maintained.
• Knowledge of surgical asepsis and patient safety principles applied in practice.
• Ability to scrub and assist the surgeon in operative procedures.
• Demonstrates effective communication and teamwork in the OR.

Responsibilities

• Selects and prepares supplies for procedures based on knowledge and physician plan.
• Assists in operative procedures and anticipates team needs.
• Provides direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process as directed.
• Performs sponge, needle and instrument counts with the Circulator.
