Jersey City Medical Center is seeking an OR Tech I to join the Operating Room team. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you will scrub and assist with surgical cases across service lines, contributing to safe patient care before, during and after procedures.

Required: high school diploma or equivalent, Surgical Technician training, and NBSTSA certification with current BLS. 2–3 years of OR support experience; excellent communication and multitasking skills; day shift 7:00 am–3:00 pm,

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician training program.
• 2–3 years of experience. Must scrub robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgical team under RN direction and scrub in multiple service lines.
• Prepare and deliver instruments, maintain sterile field, and support post-operative care.

Pay Range: $31.41 - $38.42 per hour

Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

A member of the surgical team, acting under the direction of a Registered Nurse, who works with the surgeon and RN in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibility before, during and after surgery.

Qualifications:

Required: High School diploma or equivalent. Completion of a Surgical Technician training program. 2 – 3 years of experience. Must have strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written). Must be able to make calls. Must be flexible, able to multitask and be able to work independently.

Certifications and Licenses Required:

Certified Surgical Technician, required. NBSTSA Certification, required. Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association.

Scheduling Requirements:

7:00 am – 3:00 pm. Full Time. Alternating Weekends, holidays and call coverage.
