Job summary

Jersey City Medical Center is seeking an OR Tech I in the Operating Room department. This role supports the surgical team under the RN and surgeon, scrubs for cases across robotics, vascular, neurovascular, orthopedics, and trauma, and maintains strong communication with the team.

The position is full-time, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm, with alternating weekends and holidays. Benefits include PTO, health, dental, vision, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician training program.
• 2–3 years of experience.
• Ability to scrub for diverse service lines including robotics, vascular, neurovascular, orthopedics, trauma, and more.

Responsibilities

• Assist during surgery under the direction of the RN and surgeon.
• Prepare and scrub for cases across listed service lines.
• Communicate effectively with team and respond to calls as needed.

Pay Range: $31.41 - $38.42 per hour

Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

A member of the surgical team, acting under the direction of a Registered Nurse, who works with the surgeon and RN in delivering patient care and assuming appropriate responsibility before, during and after surgery.

Qualifications:

Required: High School diploma or equivalent. Completion of a Surgical Technician training program. 2 – 3 years of experience. Must have strong knowledge with skill being able to scrub the following service lines: robotics, vascular, endovascular, neurovascular, general, thoracic, neuro/spine, orthopedics, complex plastic cases and trauma. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbally and written). Must be able to make calls. Must be flexible, able to multitask and be able to work independently.

Certifications and Licenses Required:

Certified Surgical Technician, required. NBSTSA Certification, required. Current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification required with American Heart Association.

Scheduling Requirements:

7:00 am – 3:00 pm. Full Time. Alternating Weekends, holidays and call coverage.
