Job summary

You will mentor new staff, participate in policy implementation, ensure patient care assignments are safe, and collaborate with education for skills labs. Requires OR tech program, 2+ years' experience and BLS.

Qualifications

• Leadership is demonstrated by meeting the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Two years of experience as a surgical technologist in a hospital or surgery center setting.
• BLS certification required

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operations of the Surgical Techs in the Operating Room.
• Develops schedules for the unit within budgeted statistics; updates associate files, skills checklists, and competencies.
• Mentors new staff and participates in interviews for open positions.
• Manages day-to-day issues with staff, patients, and doctors; ensures safe patient care assignments.
• Participates in policy development and quality improvement initiatives.
• Assists in preparation for regulatory surveys and implements departmental policies.
