Job summary

UPMC Williamsport is seeking a part-time Surgical Services Support Technician for our Operating Room. The role supports case flow and patient care under supervision, with casual hours and approximately 8 hours per week guaranteed.

Weekend coverage is required to ensure smooth OR operations. Responsibilities include assisting with positioning, transporting specimens, setting up sterile fields, and maintaining equipment while adhering to safety and policy standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 1 year of healthcare or customer service experience.
• Enrollment in a healthcare training program with at least 1 clinical rotation completed.

Responsibilities

• Establish effective communication strategies and support department changes; learn under RN supervision.
• Assist with patient positioning, transport specimens, and establish a sterile field with supplies and equipment.
• Move patients in the OR, ensure safety, and support staff to maintain clean, organized OR areas.
