Job summary

UPMC Williamsport is seeking a Surgical Services Support Technician to assist in the Operating Room. This casual role offers about 8 hours per week with weekend coverage, and the incumbent will support staff to facilitate case flow under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include patient positioning with RN guidance, sterile field setup, equipment care, safety checks, and effective communication with anesthesia and OR staff to coordinate daily assignments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 1 year of experience, preferably within a customer service or healthcare role.
• Enrollment in any healthcare training program that requires clinical rotations with at least 1 clinical rotation completed.

Responsibilities

• Establish appropriate and effective communication strategies and support change within the department.
• Assist with patient positioning, transporting specimens, establishing a sterile field, and caring for specialty equipment under RN supervision.
• Move patients in the OR, ensure safety, assist to prioritize daily assignments, and maintain department cleanliness and readiness.
