Job summary

St. David's South Austin Medical Center, part of St. David's HealthCare, is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Surgical unit. You will evaluate patients preoperatively, educate families, and manage IV therapy, medications, and site verification to ensure patient safety.

You will work within an interdisciplinary team, uphold evidence-based practices, and participate in ongoing quality initiatives while maintaining patient-centered care and leadership in the operating room.

Qualifications

• RN required with Associate Degree.
• BLS within 30 days of start date.
• No travel required for this role.
• Surgical unit experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide education to patient and family about procedure.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy, preop meds, site verification.
• Participate in site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
