Job summary

Parrish Medical Center in Titusville, FL is seeking an Operating Room Assistant to decontaminate OR suites, restock supplies, transport patients, and assist with positioning for procedures. You will support environmental needs and ensure efficient room turnover with attention to safety and infection control.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year of healthcare experience; Nursing Assistant Certification is preferred and Adult Heart saver within 90 days of employment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Nursing Assistant Certification preferred; Adult Heart saver within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates Parrish Medical Center values of Safety, Loyalty, Integrity, Compassion, Excellence, and Stewardship.
• Ensures safe transport, transfer, and positioning of patients with proper body mechanics.
• Assists with equipment management and reports problems to supervisor.
• Restocks operating room supplies and maintains PAR levels.
• Decontaminates OR suites between cases and cleans surfaces.
• Disinfects and sterilizes equipment and maintains logs.
• Assists with safe turnovers and knows department goals for starts/time.
• Promotes a safe environment and reports hazards promptly.
• Follows infection control practices and PPE usage.
• Supports patient- and staff-satisfaction activities and works with physicians.
• Supports quality initiatives and adheres to policies; performs other duties as assigned.
• Familiar with fire, disaster, and safety procedures.
